How to Suggest Yourself into Success: Getting Motivated

It can be difficult to get motivated, especially when you don't know how. Most of us don't help ourselves get motivated - we keep giving ourselves suggestions about our limitations and what we believe we are incapable of doing. We want motivation so bad that we suggest to ourselves that we are unable to be motivated. How many times have you tried to get motivated, but just couldn't do it? How many times have you told yourself that you just can't be motivated? If this sounds like you, then you're not alone. Most people find it difficult to get motivated. The best thing we can do is create suggestions that will lead to our success!

Positive suggestions can be powerful because they change our focus and help us see what is possible. When we focus on what we want instead of what we don't want, it's easier to take action towards our goals.

Here are some tips for giving yourself positive suggestions:

  • Keep it simple - A long or complicated suggestion can be difficult to remember and easy to forget. Stick to one or two key points that you want to focus on.
  • Be specific - The more specific you are about what you want to achieve, the easier it will be to take action and achieve your goal.
  • Make it realistic - Choose something that is achievable so you can feel successful when you reach your goal.
  • Believe in yourself - The more confidence you have in yourself, the easier it will be to follow through with your suggestion.

You'll know a positive suggestion has been effective if you find yourself taking action towards your goal or if you notice a change in your attitude or behavior.

There are some situations where giving yourself a positive suggestion may not be advisable, such as if you're facing an impossible situation or if doing so would put you in danger. In these cases, it's best to focus on staying safe and keeping a positive outlook until the situation improves.
