Hey There, Future Hypnosis Wizard!
Ah, the first session. It’s like a first date… but without the awkward silence or wondering who’s going to pick up the tab. Clients come in nervous, unsure if they’re about to be healed or end up clucking like a chicken (spoiler alert: we leave the farm animal impressions to the stage hypnotists). You know they’ve got questions—lots of them—so let’s get you prepped to knock their socks off with your hypnotherapy prowess. 🧠✨
Here are the top 10 questions you’re definitely going to hear—and trust me, if I had a dollar for every time I’ve been asked these… well, I’d still be here writing this because I love you all too much to retire.

1. How many sessions will I need?
Ah, the golden question. “How long until I’m fixed?” (No pressure, right?). Honestly, it depends. Some people feel a shift after the first session, others need a few more—but here’s the truth: you’ll start to notice changes after your very first session. Take that, skepticism! Just remember, it’s not a race—healing is more of a leisurely walk than a sprint.

2. Will I lose control during hypnosis?
Nope. Not even a little. You’re in the driver’s seat the whole time, and I’m just the GPS suggesting maybe not driving into that lake of unresolved trauma. You’ll be fully aware, totally in control, and probably wondering why you were so worried about this in the first place.

3. What if I can’t be hypnotized?
Fun fact: almost everyone can be hypnotized, except for two types of people—those under 8 (because their little brains are still growing), and folks with dementia or brain injuries that affect focus. So unless you’re secretly a toddler or experiencing some serious memory issues, you’re good to go. Hypnosis is like Netflix: almost everyone can get hooked if you find the right show… or trance.

4. Can I be hypnotized if I don’t believe in it?
Belief? Nah, leave that to the Easter Bunny. Hypnosis works whether you believe in it or not. All you need is an open mind, a comfortable chair, and maybe a cup of tea to settle in. Your subconscious will take it from there. 🧘♂️

5. Will I say or do things I don’t want to?
Only if you want to (but really, why would you?). Hypnosis is all about collaboration, not coercion. You’re not going to spill your deepest secrets unless you feel like it. Pinky promise. 🤞

6. What does hypnosis feel like?
Imagine a really good daydream—now add in some deep relaxation, like the moment before you fall asleep (without the drool). You’re awake, but super chill, and your mind is hyper-focused on the good stuff. If that sounds nice, it’s because it is. 😌

7. Is hypnosis like stage hypnosis?
Oh, man. If I had a dime for every time someone asked if they were going to end up squawking like a chicken or doing the Macarena, I’d be rich (and possibly reconsidering my life choices). Nope, clinical hypnotherapy is the real deal. No funky dance moves, just deep healing and transformation.
|
8. Will I remember everything afterward?
Probably, though you might forget some details if you’re really relaxed. It’s like when you wake up from an amazing nap—you know it was great, but some of it’s a blur. But don’t worry, the important stuff sticks with you. Your brain’s got your back.

9. Can I recover lost memories with Hypnosis?
Sorry, but hypnosis isn’t the magic key to unlocking lost memories (despite what Hollywood says). Human memory is super suggestible, so hypnosis isn’t a reliable way to dig up the past. Instead, hypnotherapy helps you heal, get more integrated, and as a result, sometimes those memories naturally resurface—when your mind’s ready for it.
|
10. What if I get emotional during a session?
Oh, emotions? In therapy? Shocking. 🙃 If you get emotional during a session, congratulations—you’re human! It’s totally normal, and honestly, it’s a sign that you’re on the right track. We’ll take it slow and steady, and if it feels like too much, we’ll hit pause and regroup. Your comfort comes first.
